I am weird when it comes to my eyes. I struggle to even put in eye drops. I have never had a Valium but do you think that it would work well enough with the numbing eye drops where I could handle the procedure or do you have people that just couldn't handle it. I think the main thing stopping me is all psychological.

On January 17, 2012, my right eye cataract was removed. The left eye was done on November 26, 2013. All was well, until about three months ago, when both eyes started to get cloudy, again. The Optometrist said I needed a procedure called, YAG Capsulotomy, where a laser is directed into the eye to vaporize tissue that develops behind the implanted lens. As with me, this occurs in about 1/3 of those who have cataract surgery- and can happen even several years after. The YAG Capsulotomy was done at 10 AM, today- 5/10/2021, to both eyes. Each eye took less than 3 minutes and, as the green laser was doing its thing, I could INSTANTLY see areas of my field of vision improving- that fast! Because my eyes were very dilated, the focus was not yet perfect. It is now 7 hours and my vision has - AGAIN - been restored to that level achieved by the original cataract surgery. I am amazed!

My question is this, if someone suffers from traumatic mydriasis which causes photophobia and sometimes tense migraine for days cz of photphobia and Increased IOP spikes.... YAG surgery as i read increases the amount of light coming into the eyes....wouldnt that be annoying for a patient having photophobia??!

I enjoyed every second of the video! Back in the late 2017 I got the newest technology a week after they installed it! I’m still 20/15 in both eyes over 2 years later! My surgeon told me he can get my vision up into my 60’s & I got it done when I was 24 years old. I’ll see if it lives up to the hype. So far so good. I was wondering why my surgeon said I was an excellent candidate for the surgery? I have the biggest pupils that go past the flap ring, that causes big starbursts at night from all the lights. Overall I am extremely happy with the end results, just wished I didn’t have big pupils. My honest opinion is that I say I’m a good to great candidate for the procedure. Overall I’m used to the side affects from lasik but suggest to anyone that has big pupils like me should honestly stick to glasses or contacts & not deal with night vision problems for the rest of our lives. We should not be qualified as a candidate for lasik. That’s why contacts and glasses cost more money in the long run because our vision is most valuable to us. Than thinking we will save money in the long run with lasik but have to deal with complications at night, that may not be worth it at all to some people. But thank god i did not lose and vision after the surgery & gained it all back. If you guys have extremely big pupils like me don’t do it you guys and save your money! It was my regret of doing it. Unless you don’t care about side affects. Then the procedure is totally awesome how we see the world. I say lasik gives me a sharper more clear image than I did with contacts or glasses. I really hope I see clear forever!
